Child Safety

Last updated: 11 September 2026

AI Buddy is built for children, so safety is a first principle, not an afterthought. This page explains, in plain language, how we help keep young learners safe.

Parental consent

A child's account must be set up with a parent, guardian or school, and realtime voice and video lessons require parental consent before they can be used.

Private by default

Accounts are private by default. There is no open chat with strangers. The tutor works one-to-one with the student on their schoolwork.

A learning-focused tutor

The tutor is designed to stay on learning and to steer gently back to the subject if a conversation drifts. It teaches with the student, encouraging effort rather than simply handing over answers.

Honest about limits

No tool, including ours, is ever perfectly safe or perfectly accurate. AI can make mistakes, screen time still needs managing, and children benefit from adult involvement. We treat parental oversight as essential. Our short guide on whether AI tutoring is safe for children gives parents a practical checklist.
